Precision Casting Parts
GooCasting® specializes in custom precision casting (investment casting) parts for aerospace, automotive, medical, and machinery industries. Our advanced investment casting process produces high-precision components with excellent surface finish and tight tolerances.
What is Precision Casting?
Precision casting, also known as investment casting or lost-wax casting, is a manufacturing process that produces metal parts with high dimensional accuracy and superior surface finish. The process involves creating a wax pattern, coating it with ceramic shell, melting out the wax, and pouring molten metal into the cavity.
Our Precision Casting Capabilities
- Materials: Stainless Steel (304, 316, 17-4PH), Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel, Aluminum Alloy, Copper Alloy, Superalloy
- Weight Range: 10g to 50kg
- Tolerance: CT4-CT6 (ISO 8062)
- Surface Finish: Ra 1.6-6.3 μm (as-cast)
- Minimum Wall Thickness: 2mm
- Production Capacity: 100 tons/month
Advantages of Precision Casting
- High Precision: CT4-CT6 tolerance, minimal machining required
- Excellent Surface Finish: Ra 1.6-6.3 μm reduces post-processing
- Complex Geometries: Intricate shapes, thin walls, undercuts
- Wide Material Range: Stainless steel, aluminum, superalloys, etc.
- Cost-Effective: Near-net shape reduces material waste and machining
- Consistent Quality: Repeatable process for high-volume production
Our Precision Casting Process
- Pattern Injection: Wax patterns injected into aluminum molds
- Cluster Assembly: Multiple patterns assembled on wax tree
- Ceramic Shell: Tree dipped in ceramic slurry and stuccoed
- Dewaxing: Shell heated to melt out wax patterns
- Shell Firing: Shell fired at high temperature for strength
- Metal Pouring: Molten metal poured into preheated shell
- Cooling & Shell Removal: Casting cooled, ceramic shell broken off
- Cut-off & Finishing: Parts cut from tree, gates removed
- Quality Inspection: Dimensional check, X-ray, pressure testing
- Post-Processing: Heat treatment, machining, surface finishing if required
